Mi Gente one of the best books out here for our children about our people is this one.

Great gift for the little ones and even some adults.
Well written and beautifully illustrated with a Taino dictionary to boot. The book is truly a gem.
It is the story of A Taino Girl’s First Adventure pre-Columbus on her beautiful Caribbean Island homeland of Jamaica.

Written by Dr. Lesley-Gail Boianani Atkinson it should be included in your child's library as well a must for teachers interested in teaching their young students the indigenous history of the Caribbean.

I wish I knew there was a book then I could read that would assist me with my struggles; a book to comfort me with the acknowledgment that I wasn't alone. I share my journey not to make history, but to teach how history can strengthen who you are. Happiness is taken for granted by so many.
