On behalf of the Bohio Atabey, I made this painting to collect fundings for our sacred ceremonial run (Peace and Dignity) in Boriken. Every penny collected will be used for that purpose. Our land is in need of prayers. The people back home hosting the runners are in need of help after all the earthquakes. We have elders coming to the island representing the Eagle and the Condor from different tribes/communities across North America. Our own Aruake Yukayeke of Boriken are working diligently to make sure our Peace and Dignity Run take place in our land and help can be provided to those on the island.

Boriken has been a colony of the United States since July 25th, 1898. We have American money and American things for a long time (money is important but it's not edible) Atabey don't want money, she needs our hands, our hearts, our care, our working. As indigenous people, we must not forget that our responsibility is with our home first. The land that sustained our people for centuries has been neglected for so long. It's trembling with anguish.
Help us run and pray for the healing of the land that our ancestors died for. Help our runners on the island and let's help our hosts on the island help us.

The painting is watercolor and ink. 11in×15in on a watercolor pad.
I will include a personal story with it and it will be framed.

As an artist, my work has humbly supported my everyday life. Its all I have to offer besides my physical presence when its time to do work. Art helps me promote my culture, other tribes I lived with, the places I visit, and most importantly I paint about my own spirituality as an indigenous Taino woman.

The raffle tickets will be sold at the Bohio Atabey's page. I'll provide a link after this post. Please contact Vanessa Inaru for more details on how to buy a ticket and when a winner's name will be drawn.

Thank you, my beautiful people, Licy Onaney Rodriquez.

Raffle info will be up in a few days :)
