Undernourished child, Brazil. Guarani-Kaiowa indigenous people. | Brazil Photos:
They say a picture speaks for itself
These photos are a POWERFUL REMINDER of the sad reality of many of the Indigenous peoples of the Amazon.
A people once proud and free have been dehumanized reduced to poverty and homelessness.
These photos show the harsh and the true reality of the native people of Brazil today.
There were an estimated ten million Indians lived in the Amazonian Rainforest five centuries ago. Today there are less than 200,000.
Rainforests are being destroyed because the value of rainforest land is perceived as only the value of its timber by short-sighted governments, multi-national logging companies, and land owners.
So to those who care... Think on these things every time you sit on a park bench or,fill up your car with gasoline,
Think about how much you have contributed to the destruction of not just a rain forest... but all life in it.
HOW MUCH LIFE HAVE YOU HELPED DESTROY?
AND
HOW MUCH ARE ARE YOU WILLING TO DO TO PUT A STOP TO ALL THIS ?!!!
