Because it is a second full Moon in the same month and towards the end of October towards the beginning of November, our Abuelas and Titi's would call it "La Luna Donde Bailan Los Mukaros. They taught us that the Mukaros are nocturnal and very active at nite because their job is to awaken Meketaurie Guayaba and it is Abuela Maroya (Moon ) that helps them.
You see Mukaros see in the same way that we do, with both eyes straight ahead so they really do not
see in total pitch darkness even though they have adapted to see better in the dark they still need a little lite.
Now their large eyes can't move or roll like human eyes but they can move their heads nearly all the way around, allowing them a better range of vision without moving their bodies.
So during a full moon, they dance and hoot a lot but more during this time of the year.
That is because they are looking to mate :) and two full moons in one month is a big help.
Now in the Owl dance, there is much we can learn :)
One is the importance of choosing a mate wisely for life, another the importance of each person role in a relationship that will bring new life into the world and I will keep this part short the importance of good communication in your personal and not so personal relationships :)
We learned the presence of the owl alerts us and that we must listen and quietly pay attention to the sounds of silence.
That is especially important as it is a good way to hear and or see
the face of real truth and that of untruth, deceit, and often non spoken lies
The owl-like the howling dog also announces the passing of someone close to you.
So Enjoy this second Full Moon and seek to acquire the wisdom of the Owl in your life.
